Coach,
Our last academy in Alaska was incredible. You are invited to the next NWCA Scholastic Leadership Academy on March 6th at Colony HS in Palmer.
We know that great programs are built on more than just technique. Our mission is to provide you with the tools for recruitment, retention, and parent involvement that often aren't taught on the mat.
The Details:
Time: March 6th, Mat session 3-4pm and Academy 4:30-8:30pm
Value: Completely free for you and your staff (donor-funded).
Impact: Earn a Certificate of Completion and potential CEU credits.
Who should attend? While designed for Head Coaches, we strongly encourage you to bring assistants, club coaches, or senior leaders who are the future of our sport.
NWCA Website: REGISTRATION LINK – Select "Alaska" from the drop-down menu.
Our academies consistently receive outstanding feedback from across the country. Please continue to share this opportunity and flyer with all coaches around you. We look forward to seeing the Alaska wrestling community well-represented once again.

Alaska Coaches,
I am so excited to be with you for another year as the coach’s director. I can truly say it is a privilege to help shape our young men and women into amazing people using the best sport in the world…...Wrestling!!! Each and every one of you has my complete admiration and respect. If it wasn’t for you all to give up your extremely valuable time to this sport our kids wouldn’t have the opportunities they have today. Together let’s make the 2025 season an amazing one and I can’t wait to see all of you mat side.
Please remember that to be matside for the 2025 season coaches will need to have the following;
- USA Wrestling Leader Membership
- Background Check
- Safe Sport Training
- Concussion training (“CT” on your membership card if done through USA wrestling (no charge) or completed within 3 years from another source).
- Copper level certification or higher
If you are having trouble with any of these please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me and I will be more than happy to help you get qualified to coach. Take a look at https://www.themat.com/coaches/ncep-certification for all the different coaches certification levels available.
Lastly, I would like to leave you with an older coach conduct from USA wrestling (please see below). I think it is very important to keep these values in mind as we all coach throughout the season. Remember we are here for the kids.
